WNSO-Nepal Volunteers' Day Camp was successfully marked by most of its volunteers, well-wishers and some new comers.
The bus left WNSO-Nepal Central office, dillibazar with the banner with theme Save Nature, Save the Planet 8:40 am. The day 2nd February 2008 was World Wetlnds Day. This year the slogan is : Healthy Wetlands, Healthy People. All of our volunteers reached the spot at the Panimuhan aspect of shivapuri National Park at 9:40. Then bus moved into the park.
Soon after tea-session, as the informal program progressed, some formalities were practiced to keep all of our volunteers to be aware of Nature Conservation , Social Responsibility by Mr. J.N. Kharel (Secretary of WNSO-Nepal). Also Dr. Sunil Kumar Joshi (President of WNSO-Nepal) introduced two Volunteers of WNSO-Nepal from its initial stages: Dr. Subash Shrestha and Dr. Ajay Dhakal; also he guided further prospects of WNSO-Nepal nd Youth-Volunteerism. Two personalities committed themselves to have a co-op with WNSO-Nepal.
Then the informal introduction session had started. Students with various academic backgrounds : Agriculture, Economics, Engineering, Biology, Environmental Eciences, Medical Studies and many others had participated.
Mr. Prashant Raut also guided the volunteers' and WNSO-Nepal to make a difference in NGO-Led conservation approaches in Natural areas and Human Livelihood.
Also some of the foreign students praised Nepalese Students inititive in such activities.
Then we had attended a short trek to Nagi Gompa and enjoyed a sight-seeing there.
We had taken photographs and adored the nature.
Also our volunteers drafted future programs to help in Nature Conservation and have adventure that is nature-friendly.
Then as we returned to the spot, had some snacks and Dr. Sunil Kumar Joshi led the Entertainment Session by singing song. Then all volunteers rejoiced and the moment was fully celebrated.
Lunch session and short informal APPEAL TO VOLUNTEERS was commenced and after having hot-soup in the cold-of Shivapuri, we returned with cheers, rejoices, sweet experiences and more responsibilities.
